About the Association

The Czech and Slovak Association of Western Australia is a non-profit organisation supporting and uniting Czechs and Slovaks in WA.

The main mission of our association is:

 

  • Maintaining and sharing our beautiful traditions, languages, and culture
  • Providing education in both Czech and Slovak languages
  • Sharing information and helping newly arrived Czechs and Slovaks in WA

For long-term and permanent Czechs and Slovaks in Western Australia and all those interested in Czech and Slovak culture (families, individuals)

  • Cultural and social events aimed at maintaining national traditions and mother tongue;
  • Teaching Czech and Slovak languages ​​for adults and children, lending books and magazines written in Czech and Slovak;
  • Keeping in touch with the current social, cultural, sporting, and artistic scene in Western Australia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia through community magazines, art performances, exhibitions, lectures and discussion meetings with artists, science and technology experts;

 

Local and foreign entrepreneurs, craftsmen and companies undertaking business in Western Australia

We assist businesses of Czech and Slovak entrepreneurs with the following:

  • Promoting their companies during the association’s monthly community, social, and cultural events.
  • Marketing their products and services at these gatherings.
  • Advertising through the association’s publication, KLOKAN.
  • Utilizing the community library premises to organize lectures and workshops.
