Welcome to the Czech and Slovak Association of Western Australia
Since 1953, we’ve been keeping alive the rich traditions of the Czech and Slovak communities right here in Western Australia.
Our association is a vibrant hub where members and friends celebrate our heritage, share our culture, and pass down our homeland’s stories, customs, and flavors.
Whether through music, dance, cuisine, or language, we’re proud to maintain the spirit of the Czech and Slovak cultures for future generations to cherish.

Klokan Magazine
The national magazine Klokan (or Kangaroo) was founded in 1995 and its characteristic name was given by the then club treasurer, Mr. Josef Netolicky.
Klokan is published once a month and informs about organized events, brings news from home or important information from consular offices, also publishes interesting articles, entertainment and advertisements. Since the beginning of 2011, Klokan has also had its full-color electronic version, and as “eKlokan” it reaches many more readers with the help of e-mail and web pages.
Since June 2012, Klokan has expanded to include a separate 4-page supplement for children – Klokanek. Klokanek is published alternately in Czech and Slovak.
